When we live conscious of God´s presence, we begin to understand that our life is a true path that leads, without pause, to obtaining Life forever. For that reason, a Pilgrim is one who heads towards a goal. That´s what happens in great pilgrimages: reaching the goal is both the objective and the incentive to keep walking, despite the tiredness and difficulties of the journey.
The Pilgrim, who gives his whole life to God, doesn´t stop during his walk. In the midst of everyday life, he keeps on adding a sense of transcendence and a supernatural meaning to everything he lives. For him, life itself becomes the object of giving to God, with the purpose of sanctifying himself and the others, of obtaining salvation for him and the others. The way may have setbacks, but it will always be a going forward sustained by God´s strength. What makes a walker a Pilgrim in the spiritual sense is his faith and determination to live everything for God and bear lasting fruit.
These pages are an invitation to delve deeper and deeper into the spirit of those who make their lives a path of giving and offering. They also help us understand more deeply how we can be transformed by the grace every time we say Yes to God, like Mary did.
