ABOUT US
The Work of love and redemption is a private Association of laymen whose main mission and objective is to communicate, in the context of the Catholic Church, a path of spirituality. This way, called the “Path of Giving”, is based on offering one´s everyday life to God, so that the Holy Spirit may receive it and transform it into graces in favor of all men and women, without distinction.
Those of us who are part of this Work are called Pilgrims. The Pilgrim who walks in the path of giving is supported by two columns: humility and trust. The Pilgrim rests on those two columns in his daily walk by the path of love that is lived and offered every day.
OUR HISTORY
The beginning of the Work of love and redemption goes back to the year 1991, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Having experienced a particular call during a spiritual retreat, Mrs. Patricia Mingo de Grinenco started teaching the path of interior transformation that aims at the sanctification and redemption of souls through the daily offering to God of everything lived. The first activities took place at the family catechism in the Diocese of San Isidro, Province of Buenos Aires. Subsequently, perseverance groups were created, that gave birth to Workshops that were extended to different dioceses and other countries.
MEMBERS
n November 1st 2019, seven founders gathered, together with Patricia Grinenco, in a three-day retreat at a retreat house called Los siervos de María in Fátima, Pilar, Province of Buenos Aires, and the group of founders was formed and consolidated.
Each member made a formal promise of serving the Work, safeguarding its own characteristic charism.
THE WORK IN THE WORLD
Our spirituality encompasses everyone who wants to live an experience of intimate union with our Lord Jesus, through Mary, by the offering of daily activities. Thus, this Work is open to everyone who wants to get to know it and/or be part of it.
There are workshops taking place in Argentina, Colombia and Chile. And there are also Pilgrims from Panama participating in the workshops. A Work for the world is the incentive that summons us and unites us.
DESCRIPTION OF THE ICON
The Icon as a path of encounter and union with Christ through Mary
“The icon is not a portrait, but a foretaste of the future transfigured humanity” (Eugenij Trubetzkoy) and “gives testimony of the world beyond and its dwellers. It doesn´t demonstrate, it shows” (Sergei Bulgakov).
Experiencing this divine presence by the contemplation of the icon -that is never abstract and never stops impacting those who live it- there awakens in those who contemplate it the desire for true Beauty, God´s one. Many people feel attracted and experience great consolation and recollection when, in silence, they contemplate the icon, raising their prayer to God.
