THE HOLY SPIRIT ANIMATES US TO BE WITNESSES TO THE TRUTH IN THE WORLD
“And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and enable your servants to speak your word with all boldness, as you stretch forth (your) hand to heal, and signs and wonders are done through the name of your holy servant Jesus." As they prayed, the place where they were gathered shook, and they were all filled with the holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness. (Acts 4: 29-31)
REFLECTION
Faced with threats from the Jewish authorities, the apostles invoke the help of the Holy Spirit in order to continue with their mission of being bearers of the revealed Word. Filled with the Spirit they go forward resolutely. This is the force that makes them active and heroic, that drives them beyond their own strength to remain faithful to their mission.
EXAM
Can I trust, in difficult moments and in situations in which I do not see clearly, in the action of the Holy Spirit that repairs my strength and enlightens my life?
INTENTION
I put myself in the hands of the Holy Spirit every time I feel in need of his strength.
PRAYER
Our Father, send the strength of your Spirit on all your children in need of your love and mercy. Remember us in our difficulties and make us docile to your holy will, so that we can be your witnesses in the world. Through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
