PRAYER TO MARY MOTHER OF PILGRIMS
Mary, you desired to be our companion in this path of giving we live every day. We take you as our Mother of pilgrims, so that you may always walk ahead of us, opening the way for us, pointing out the goal, and giving us an example of love that is donated and offered.
We entrust ourselves to you, our sweet Mother, since we know that because of you the path is safe and we glimpse the goal without fear. Strengthen us every day in our commitment to love and offering so that we can be your instruments and serve in the cause of the salvation of souls. Amen.
Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. For it is through the holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her. (Mathew 1: 20).
REFLECTION
Mary was full of God's grace, so everything in her was pure. The Holy Spirit descended into her virginal womb and fecundated her, she became thus the all-beautiful Mother of the Son of God. Without stain in her soul, she sheltered God.
When grace descends on us, especially in the sacrament of reconciliation, our purified soul becomes capable of receiving God; this prepares us to receive the Eucharist. The same thing happens when we love and when we offer ourselves for others, because love purifies our soul and makes it more docile to the Holy Spirit.
INNER LOOK
Many times purity is about intention, because that is where the deepest feelings and many of our most intimate thoughts are harbored. Do I examine what the true intention is in the things I do or say? Can I detach myself from things, from myself? What things call my attention for their purity?
INTENTION
I will seek, on this second day, to do everything with the right intention so that in this way my words and actions, my thoughts and feelings, my desires and intentions, even my gestures and attitudes are pure and holy, chaste and upright in imitation of Mary.
PRAYER
My Father, purify my gaze, my thoughts and my feelings so that in me is the true purity, through which I can have you in my heart and love you more and more. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be.
