PRAYER TO MARY MOTHER OF PILGRIMS
Mary, you desired to be our companion in this path of giving we live every day. We take you as our Mother of pilgrims, so that you may always walk ahead of us, opening the way for us, pointing out the goal, and giving us an example of love that is donated and offered.
We entrust ourselves to you, our sweet Mother, since we know that because of you the path is safe and we glimpse the goal without fear. Strengthen us every day in our commitment to love and offering so that we can be your instruments and serve in the cause of the salvation of souls. Amen.
Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother (...). (John 19:25).
REFLECTION
Love brought our Mother to the foot of the cross. This is the sublime act of surrender that she made to the Father: she gave herself to his most holy will, giving her own Son. She did so of her own free will, because since the Announcement there was no other desire in her Heart than to fulfill her mission as Mother of God by associating herself with the redemptive destiny of her Son. This is: to accompany and support Jesus in his mission to save all men. A single will kept them united until the end.
INNER LOOK
What inner feeling leads me to say yes to God's will? Am I aware that my life has immense value in God's hands when I say yes to his will?
INTENTION
Mary gave herself completely during all her life. This open disposition of hers to the grace made it possible for Jesus to bring about redemption for all. On this sixth day I ask Mary, Mother of pilgrims, to guide me on my path of giving, so that I can always be open to what God wants of me.
PRAYER
Father of all mercies, help me to give myself more each day. Make it possible for my life to be a constant yes to your will, so that I can collaborate with Jesus in the saving work in imitation of Mary. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
