CONSECRATION
Sacred Heart of Jesus, today I consecrate my little heart to you, so that through the offering of each day and my whole life I may live united to you for the love of God and my brothers. I want to make a permanent offering of my life. May your will be done. Amen.
"Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me”.
(Matthew 16: 24).
REFLECTION
Following Jesus, loving as he loves us, implies continuous self-denial and detachment from ourselves, because only in Christ can we achieve grace and salvation. Following Jesus is also carrying the heavy cross of all our conditioning, weaknesses and sins.
EXAM
Am I aware that the cross that Jesus asks me to carry is that of my own frailty and weakness?
INTENTION
Today I take up the heavy cross of everything I would like to be and do, and I cannot.
PRAYER
Heart of Jesus, you love me as I am and you do not expect anything else from me but that I give you my heart. Receive my crosses, what is hardest for me and hurts me the most, sanctify me by this offering. Do in me what I cannot and be in me at all times. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
