He awakened, rebuked the wind and the waves, and they subsided and there was a calm. (Luke 8: 24b).
Prayer of abandonment
Eternal God, I abandon myself to you on this day, so that you are the Maker of all my life. There’s nothing I wish more than living what you want and doing your divine will. May my soul rise, oh my God, and be taken by your Divine Goodness and led to the full realization of your designs. Today I abandon myself forever in your hands. Amen.
Reflection
It is not about doing what we cannot, because our God does not ask us for things that are beyond our capabilities and that we cannot carry out. Rather, we are called to let him do in us precisely what is difficult for us or weighs us down. Then, how sweetly does the hand of our Lord rest on our hearts. As Jesus calmed the waters of the Lake of Galilee, so he calms our hearts by restoring our faith and confidence.
Intention
Today I offer those things that are hard for me to bear, those that are a weight for me. I do so being sure that my Heavenly Father does everything in me when I trustfully surrender to him.
I end this second day by praying the Our Father, the Hail Mary and the Glory Be.
