(...) try to understand what is the will of the Lord. (...) but be filled with the Spirit. (Ephesians 5: 17b-18b).
Prayer of abandonment
Eternal God, I abandon myself to you on this day, so that you are the Maker of all my life. There’s nothing I wish more than living what you want and doing your divine will. May my soul rise, oh my God, and be taken by your Divine Goodness and led to the full realization of your designs. Today I abandon myself forever in your hands. Amen.
Reflection
When we open our hearts to God, the Holy Spirit descends pouring out his infinite graces. These graces sustain us in our daily activities and help us to understand, in the light of what we have to live, what he wants from us. So, guided by the action of the Spirit, we continue on the path that leads us to obedience and loving acceptance of what he asks of us.
Intention
I invoke, on this fifth day of the Novena, the presence of the Holy Spirit to help me understand what God wants from me, so that I can surrender to his divine will with the confidence of a son/daughter.
I finish this fifth day praying the Our Father, the Hail Mary and the Glory Be.
