Even before a word is on my tongue, Lord, you know it all. Behind and before you encircle me and rest your hand upon me. (Psalm 139:4-5).
Prayer of abandonment
Eternal God, I abandon myself to you on this day, so that you are the Maker of all my life. There’s nothing I wish more than living what you want and doing your divine will. May my soul rise, oh my God, and be taken by your Divine Goodness and led to the full realization of your designs. Today I abandon myself forever in your hands. Amen.
Reflection
As the child places his little hand in his father's, so we are called to hold on to our Heavenly Father. With the confidence of an infant, let us be guided and carried along the paths of his holy will. Nothing can disturb us if we go forward on our path of giving, led by our God, who comes to us at all times to lead us and sustain us.
Intention
Today, close to the end of our Novena, we ask the Eternal Father to protect us and give us all the graces we need to persevere in our path of giving that leads us every day to abandon ourselves to his divine will.
I end this eighth day praying the Our Father, the Hail Mary and the Glory Be.
