"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
(Mark 15:34b).
Prayer of abandonment
Eternal God, I abandon myself to you on this day, so that you are the Maker of all my life. There’s nothing I wish more than living what you want and doing your divine will. May my soul rise, oh my God, and be taken by your Divine Goodness and led to the full realization of your designs. Today I abandon myself forever in your hands. Amen.
Reflection
In the agony of the cross, Jesus suffered the Father’s abandonment. Knowing that we are beloved children of God and saved by Jesus Christ, we recognize that we have a God who watches over us and does not abandon us. There is no loneliness for those who live their filiation with him, because they know that he supports them throughout their lives and helps them live according to his will. Abandoning oneself in God means resting lovingly in his divine will, allowing him to be the Maker of all our lives.
Intention
On this ninth and last day of the Novena, we give ourselves to our God, entrusting him with our whole lives so that he may go with us, teaching us the path of his will towards trusting abandonment in his arms.
I end this ninth day praying the Our Father, the Hail Mary and the Glory Be.
