Knowing Jesus and truly loving him are one same thing, because knowledge and love get united. If we want to know Him, we must place ourselves before him and contemplate him in his both natures: the Divine and the Human one. Both natures are per se unique and indivisible, because they are two in one same Person. Our Lord Jesus Christ.
During this workshop, we take a look at his life, discovering him to learn to love him, in order to understand more who He is, letting Him reveal and show himself to us. Our heart, open to contemplation, will allow us to grow in intimacy with Him.
The workshop consists of 33 meetings.
Meeting 15
A large number of people came to him.
Hearing what he was doing, a large number of people came to him also from Jerusalem, from Idumea, from beyond the Jordan, and from the neighborhood of Tyre and Sidon. He told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, so that they would not crush him.
(Mc. 3:8-9)
Reflection of the text
The news of what Jesus was doing had reached the end of the land of Israel and many traveled great distances to listen to him and be cured by him. Saint Mark tells us that it was a great multitude that had gone to meet him. We can imagine the mobilization produced by the presence of Jesus, how the news of all the miracles he did spread everywhere and were received by the people, even by those who were not Jewish. They wanted to meet him, listen to him, touch him, clear their doubts and disbelief, be healed and liberated by him. And they were not let down. Many listened to Him and his Word moved their hearts.
I stop to meditate
I contemplate Jesus surrounded by that crowd and I can contemplate his Holy Face talking to the people. His Presence must have radiated peace and awakened the hearts, enlightened the minds, because He was the Wisdom that spoke, the Physician of bodies and souls. Even today, when we read the Word, the images reappear loaded with immense meaning: they become actual and present because it is to me that he speaks, to whom he directs his Divine Gaze. Today, Jesus Man and God is present in the Church and in the souls that believe; he continues talking to us, healing us, looking at us.
I ask myself
When I put myself in God´s presence, Jesus makes himself present to me through the Holy Spirit. Do I ask myself how to be more in his Presence so as to listen to him in my heart and let myself be healed by him?
When I give my heart to Jesus, He comes to me. Do I understand that by means of my giving I enter into his Presence?
Do I go to my Savior to comfort him and offer him my love?
To meditate during this week: I place myself in the Presence of mi Savior to offer him my love and consolation.
