The Holy Spirit calls us to the encounter with God through the things we live every day. He wants to instruct us in the ways of God and so he teaches us to love. The love he gives us is Himself, that is why he makes us capable of God, capable of receiving everything from Him. Through his Grace, God´s infinite Love comes to us with his gifts, presents of the Most High to live saintly, in accordance with his Divine Will. Love does not require anything from us, only our openness to his Grace by means of our trusted self-offering.
In this Workshop, we live the experience of knowing and understanding the enormous gift we are given every day by the Holy Spirit. We do so by going through the Scriptures. He invites us to understand him and love him, to be able to enter in intimacy with him. And thus reach the immense treasures of grace with which he privileges each one of us while we live.
It consists of 32 meetings shared throughout the year. As an example, we quote one of them below.
Meeting 6
Throught the Holy Spirit we obtain wisdom
Wisdom 8: 17- 18
Thinking thus within myself, and reflecting in my heart that there is immortality in kinship with Wisdom, and good pleasure in her friendship, and unfailing riches in the works of her hands, and that in frequenting her society there is prudence, and fair renown in sharing her discourses, I went about seeking to take her for my own.
What does the text tell us?
This text tells us about Wisdom as a gift from God that helps us live fully and happily, and achieve Eternal Life. In kinship with Her, there´s good pleasure and the riches She offers -”by means of the works of her hands”- have no limit, since they don´t vanish when they are given, instead they constantly grow in such a way that we never stop receiving them. This is how the Holy Spirit works in us. Therefore, those who receive that gift from God never cease to desire it, to fully possess it.
Let us contemplate the work of God:
God, by means of his Holy Spirit, gives us Himself so that our relationship with Him is always close, familiar. It is to this intimacy that the Holy Spirit invites us. Because of his closeness, we receive the gifts, we understand what is going on with us, we know what God´s will has prepared for us. In one word, God´s Love comes as a friend; if we trust, he accomplishes his transforming work in us. Whoever experiences this intimacy, seeks it at all times.
Questions for a better understanding:
Let “Wisdom come to us” means that it is always being given to us. Do I realize that no great efforts are needed for the Holy Spirit to be in me?
All intimacy with God is joyful; why do I take so long to give myself?
The Holy Spirit comes to give me; how do I make myself capable of receiving his gifts?
