- We adore you, Oh Christ, ...
AMEN, AMEN, I SAY TO YOU, YOU WILL WEEP AND MOURN, WHILE THE WORLD REJOICES; YOU WILL GRIEVE, BUT YOUR GRIEF WILL BECOME JOY. (John 16: 20).
Only a few women are crying inconsolably. Where are, oh Jesus, all those who have received so many favors from you? Where are the healed of body and soul, those who were fed when you multiplied the loaves and fish? Where are those who heard you preach and whom you told them about the Kingdom of Heaven? To these pious women, who have felt sorry for you and who have recognized you as their Savior, you tell them about the bitterness that weighs on your Divine Heart: "Don't weep for me, weep instead for yourselves."
Oh, Heart of God, that in those moments you saw the fate of an entire people that rejected you and sent you to death. How much bitterness for unrepentant sinners, for those who over the centuries would despise your graces and your infinite merits. Take me, oh my Jesus, to penetrate your Divine Heart so that I can sympathize with you for so many brothers who live in ignorance, who follow paths very different from those that you have taught us. For this immense pain, forgive all those who do not love.
Father, help us to be also your collaborators in the salvation of all our brothers. Help us not to despise those who do not believe in you or live according to your commandments. Instill in us the true love that is given and offered. Through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen.
