My Savior, how not to die of love for you when seeing that you are descended from the lifeless cross. How much love wasted, how many tears rolled down your cheeks, how much blood spilled from your wounds and from your side. Me too? Am I going to remain unperturbed by the sight of a whole God dying for me?
Jesus, may the desire to serve you through my own giving in favor of all my brothers not cease in me. That everyone knows you, that everyone loves you: may this be my greatest desire so that everyone, without exception, can achieve eternal happiness forever. Let nothing be lost of all that which, with so much pain, you have achieved for us. Lord Jesus, come.
Holy Father, may the contemplation of the Mystery of the Cross make us understand that only love saves us. Give us a merciful heart so that, following the example of our Savior, we too can serve you in our brothers. Light our hearts with a great love so that we may be your witnesses in the world every day of our lives. Through Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Amen.
