- We adore you, Oh Christ, ...
"MY SOUL PROCLAIMS THE GREATNESS OF THE LORD; MY SPIRIT REJOICES IN GOD MY SAVIOR, FOR HE HAS LOOKED UPON HIS HANDMAID´S LOWLINESS." (Luke 1: 46- 48a).
Dear mother, with what joy and delight you sang your Magnificat. You became a Servant of God by accepting your divine Maternity. You well knew, oh Mother, the pains that awaited you, since Redemption was not possible without them. You accepted them from the moment you pronounced your Fiat and now here is, before you, your Son in his capacity as Redeemer, carrying the cross and mortally wounded. With tears in his eyes, he must have said the word “Mom” when he saw you. And you, Mother, could not give him any relief; only with your prayer and surrender you supported your Son in the fulfillment of his mission and yours.
Oh, my Jesus, the vision of your Mother must have reminded you of the Father, of Heaven to which you were returning. The vision of the Immaculate Conception must have made you forget for a second the offenses you received and the sufferings that drowned you. Sweetest Mary, we have cost you so much too. Oh Sacred Hearts, help us understand the infinite love of the Father for all humanity.
Merciful Father, we want to truly understand and believe that only love can save us from hopelessness and disbelief. Increase in us faith and the desire to be yours so that we may always live in your presence, guarded by you and doing your divine will at all times. May we imitate Mary, our Mother, to whom we entrust our hearts now and forever. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
