The Rosary is an echo of the prayer of Mary, her perennial Magnificat for the work of the redemptive Incarnation which began in her virginal womb. With the Rosary, the Christian people sits at the school of Mary and is led to contemplate the beauty on the face of Christ and to experience the depths of his love. Through the Rosary the faithful receive abundant grace, as though from the very hands of the Mother of the Redeemer.
(John Paul II, Rosarium Virginis Mariae).
PRAYER TO MARY, MOTHER OF PILGRIMS
Mary, you desired to be our companion in this path of giving that we live every day. We take you as our Mother of pilgrims, so that you may always walk ahead of us, opening the way for us, pointing out the goal, and giving us an example of love that is donated and offered.
We entrust ourselves to you, our sweet Mother, since we know that because of you the path is safe and we glimpse the goal without fear. Strengthen us every day in our commitment to love and offering so that we can be your instruments and serve in the cause of the salvation of souls. Amen.
Next, the Act of Contrition and the Apostles' Creed are prayed.
After each Mystery, the following is prayed: Mary, Mother of Pilgrims, pray for us.
Saint Michael, Saint Gabriel and Saint Raphael, pray for us.
OPENING PRAYER
We offer this Holy Rosary in honor of Mary, Mother of Pilgrims, for the intentions of her Blessed and Immaculate Heart and of the Heart of Jesus. We also offer it for all our intentions, for the Work of love and redemption and for those most in need of God's mercy.
We unite this Holy Rosary to the Sacrifice of the Holy Mass, to all the Eucharistic presences in all the altars and tabernacles, and to all the rosaries that are being prayed throughout the world.
We ask the holy archangels Michael, Gabriel and Rafael to assist us in praying and meditating on the mysteries of this Rosary and to guide us towards the unity of all Christians.
Holy Father, receive the offering of ourselves and use us according to your will for your glory and the salvation of all souls.
FINAL PRAYER
final-prayerHeavenly Father, through your Son Jesus Christ, through his death and resurrection we have obtained the forgiveness of sins and the promise of the eternal kingdom, we ask that, having meditated on the mysteries of the Holy Rosary of the Virgin Mary, we may imitate her in all the work of our lives and offer ourselves every day for the salvation of the whole world. Amen.
PRAYER TO SAINT MICHAEL, THE ARCHANGEL
Saint Michael the Archangel, patron of the Work of love and redemption, accompany us and defend us on our path of giving, so that each day we go willingly and determined to serve God through our confident giving. Be our defense now and always. Amen.
PRAYER TO SAINT GABRIEL, THE ARCHANGEL
Saint Gabriel, archangel of the annunciation, you were chosen by the Lord to announce to men the great events and the great works of God. Be you also the one who directs my path and announces to me, like Mary, the predilection and love of God. Patron of those who bring God's message to men, accompany all pilgrims who announce with their lives the love at work in the world. Amen.
PRAYER TO SAINT RAPHAEL, THE ARCHANGEL
Saint Raphael the Archangel, walk with each pilgrim as you walked accompanying Tobias on his long journey. Help us live faithfully our path of giving, so that we can become living offerings, acceptable and pleasing to God. Saint Raphael, patron saint of pilgrims, pray for us. Amen.
JOYFUL MYSTERIES
FIRST MYSTERY:
THE ANNUNCIATION
“Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus.” (Luke 1: 30-31).
Mary, you gave yourself to God's redemptive plan with great docility and profound humility. Because you believed and accepted the announcement from God, we have all received grace in abundance. Little Mary, after the initial confusion, you completely abandoned yourself to your Lord, responding with the most absolute and perfect Yes: "May it be done." But before doing so, you declared yourself an obedient Servant of God. Thank you, our Mother, for your immense generosity. Help us know how to say yes to God's will.
SORROWFUL MYSTERIES
FIRST MYSTERY:
THE AGONY IN THE GARDEN
"My soul is sorrowful even to death. Remain here and keep watch with me." (Matthew 26: 38).
Mary, you were not oblivious to the agony of your Son at that time. As Mother and Mediatrix of all graces, your groans and tears joined those of Jesus. You also prayed to the Father asking him to sustain them and to carry out the work of redemption. The entire weight of sin fell on Jesus, this enormous weight also fell on your immaculate and loving Heart. Oh Mother, help us to recognize that this immense sacrifice was for each one of us. May we also associate ourselves with the sacrifice of Jesus and yours.
GLORIOUS MYSTERIES
FIRST MYSTERY:
THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS
"Do not be amazed! You seek Jesus of Nazareth, the crucified. He has been raised; he is not here." (Mark 16: 6a).
The tomb has been left empty. Redemption has been accomplished; our hope is very great! With the Resurrection of Jesus, all the promises made by God since ancient times have been fulfilled. Our Mother, who hoped against all hope in the fulfillment of the Word of your Son, encourage your children to always keep hope alive so that we can bear witness, before all our brothers, of God's work in us. Implore, Mary, the Holy Spirit to instill in each one the virtues of faith, hope and love.
MYSTERIES OF LIGHT
FIRST MYSTERY:
THE BAPTISM OF JESUS
After Jesus was baptized, he came up from the water and behold, the heavens were opened (for him), and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove (and) coming upon him. And a voice came from the heavens, saying, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased." (Matthew 3: 16- 17).
Let us contemplate this epiphany: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the Baptism of the Lord. When we pray and place ourselves in the presence of the One and Triune God, heaven also opens for us and the Holy Spirit descends on each one of us to instruct us on our path. We ask you, Mary, to teach us to pray as you did. May prayer be part of our itinerary towards eternal life. Thank you, Mother, for praying so much for us!
