The purpose of this novena is to prepare our hearts and dispose our spirit to live Christmas fully. This means that we can receive, for ourselves and for others, all the graces that the Father grants us as the first fruit when we remember and celebrate with love this such a great event as is the birth of our Savior.

PRAYER TO BEGIN EACH DAY 

God the Father who loves me with infinite love, I come today with confidence to place myself in your presence because I want to offer you on this day my whole life, everything I feel and everything I think, everything I do and everything I do not do. In a word, I give you everything, but since I know that I lack much, I offer you the little that I have so that you, my Father, fill all my gaps and complete in me what is lacking. 

Most Holy Trinity, together with Mary, Mother of Pilgrims, I ask you to take me as your offering so that I may be a means and an instrument that brings your grace to all my brothers. Grant me the graces that you have reserved for all those who love you and who will celebrate this Christmas with fervor and devotion. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. 

THE LORD COMES TO VISIT ME 

After the fire there was a tiny whispering sound. When he heard this, Elijah hid his face in his cloak and went and stood at the entrance of the cave. A voice said to him, "Elijah, why are you here?” (I Kings 19:12-13).

BLESS THE LORD, MY SOUL

Bless the Lord, my soul! Lord, my God, you are great indeed!

You are clothed with majesty and splendor, robed in light as with a cloak.

(Psalm 104,1-2).

WISDOM SHALL BE MADE KNOWN TO YOU

Inquire and search, seek and find; when you get hold of her, do not let her go. Thus at last you will find rest in her, and she will become your joy. (Ecclesiastes 6: 27-28)

I SLEEP, BUT MY HEART KEEPS VIGIL

 I was sleeping, but my heart kept vigil; I heard my lover knocking:

"Open to me, my sister, my beloved, my dove, my perfect one!" (Song of Songs 5:2)

DO WHAT YOU HAVE DISPOSED 

It is you who were the author of those events and of what preceded and followed them. The present, also, and the future you have planned. Whatever you devise comes into being.

(Judith 9,5).

THEY PLACED THEM AT HIS FEET AND HE HEALED THEM

Great crowds came to him, having with them the lame, the blind, the deformed, the mute, and many others.  They placed them at his feet, and he cured them. (Matthew 15: 30).

AND THE WORD BECAME FLESH 

And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, and we saw his glory, the glory as of the Father's only Son, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14).

SHE CONCEIVED OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Now this is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about. When his mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found with child through the holy Spirit. (Matthew 1: 18).

THE TIME CAME FOR HER TO HAVE HER CHILD 

While they were there, the time came for her to have her child, and she gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. (Luke 2,6-7).
