INTRODUCTION
hen we turn our gaze towards our God, we receive from him the grace that enlightens us and we can understand how close he is to us and how he supports us in our daily walk. In this way, we start surrendering ourselves to his divine will to allow ourselves to be transformed so that, day by day, we trust more in his hands and end up abandoning ourselves to his divine will. A plea, a request, a giving and an offering are enough for the Holy Spirit to come and give us the necessary strength to move forward, knowing that he sustains us and that everything we experience makes sense since our life becomes a means of salvation for others. By our disposition to give ourselves, we walk through the path of abandonment.
Gradually, the Spirit ignites in us greater desires of giving and lead us to the offering for all our brothers.
Let us go confidently during these nine days, letting the Holy Spirit guide us. Let us allow ourselves be led by him so that our hearts may be reassured to trust that everything is possible with him. During these days we will receive the graces that will lead us to a greater abandonment in the arms of our Eternal God.
FIRST DAY - I GIVE EVERYTHING I AM AND EVERYTHING I LIVE
Set me as a seal on your heart, as a seal on your arm; For stern as death is love... (Song of Songs 8,6a).
SECOND DAY - I OFFER EVERYTHING I CANNOT DO
He awakened, rebuked the wind and the waves, and they subsided and there was a calm. (Luke 8: 24b).
THIRD DAY - I REST KNOWING THAT GOD DOES EVERYTHING IN ME
Do not deprive yourself of good things now or let a choice portion escape you. (Sirach 14:14).
FOURTH DAY - I STRENGTHEN MY FAITH BY FIRMLY BELIEVING THAT I RECEIVE EVERYTHING FROM THE LOVE OF GOD
Yes, the Lord will grant his bounty; our land will yield its produce. (Psalm 85:13).
FIFTH DAY - I SURRENDER MYSELF TO THE ACTION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
(...) try to understand what is the will of the Lord. (...) but be filled with the Spirit. (Ephesians 5: 17b-18b).
SIXTH DAY - I ACCEPT WITH DOCILITY WHAT GOD ASKS OF ME
(...) by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in unfeigned love (...) (2 Corinthians 6:6).
SEVENTH DAY - MY GOD, I TRUST IN YOU
“My refuge and fortress, my God in whom I trust.” (Psalm 91,2).
EIGHTH DAY I TAKE YOUR HAND
Even before a word is on my tongue, Lord, you know it all. Behind and before you encircle me and rest your hand upon me. (Psalm 139:4-5).
NINTH DAY - I ABANDON MYSELF TO YOU
"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
(Mark 15:34b).
